The Drostdy Museum needs the help of the public to identify or gather information about these framed photos. Please go and ask your family, those close and far away, even the ones you don’t really want to talk to or those where you can get a nice piece of cake just for showing up. The Museum hopes to find enough information on these photos to turn them into proper artifacts that relates some missing history of Swellendam’s families.

Since we opened the Bistro, with its French theme, we always wanted to create something special, not only for us or the Bistro, but something for the town, something for the guests, something that will give back to our community, something to say thank you for your support, thank you for welcoming and accepting us. So this is what we came up with....our own Eiffel tower! Not is it only a beautiful piece of handmade art, but anyone can come and buy a lock and add it to the tower and by doing that, give a helping paw to Swellendam SPCA for the amazing work they are doing.
|
Today we had the privilege to share this with Jeannette l'Estrange and the operations manager, Natalia Brown, from Swellendam SPCA and our first “lock customer” Jill Reinecke.

Two weekends ago we had a few children participating at the Parkrun. Unfortunately a few of them didn't have shoes.
|
Their mentor (coach) Johnny Jonas (072 598 2475) started an initiative to be able to provide the kids with shoes. He created a Tekkie Fund at VRT Pitt primary school.

PLEA TO OUR SWELLENDAM SPCA FACEBOOK PAGE FOLLOWERS We have close to 8700 followers on this page but our animals waiting for homes are hardly being shared. Adoption posts receive the most shares and it is always a joyful day when animals find their homes, but what about those still waiting? They are the ones who truly need our help to be seen by the right pair of eyes. Animals that are sometimes rescued from terrible situations and time, effort and no expense is spared bringing them back to health only to remain overlooked We have a number of beautiful animals that have been waiting for a long time and only through networking can we improve their chances of finding homes for them. Please don't give up on them. Shares save lives and for every adoption 2 lives are saved - the animal being adopted and the one waiting to take its place. THEY NEED ALL OF US AND DESERVE A FAIR CHANCE, PLEASE DON'T LET THEM DOWN
