The Drostdy Museum is about to welcome a new addition: Anami, a contemporary art gallery that celebrates the diversity and creativity of South African artists. Anami, which means “my name” in Xhosa, is the vision of Alice Mfundisi, a passionate art collector and curator who wants to showcase the works of emerging and established artists, ceramicists, and sculptors from across the country.

Dr Willie Bester, globally acclaimed artist, visited Swellendam with his wife Evelyn to see the space where his artworks will be exhibited at Anami, a new gallery which will be opening at the Drostdy Museum on October 1st 2023.
