Dear Nature Lovers and keen fynbos gardeners of Swellendam area iNaturalist is an app that records and identifies whatever you see in nature and the information is used for research worldwide, into declining of species as well as new, adapted species. Every year, in Spring, there is an international ‘competition’ between countries of the Southern Hemisphere to see how many observations can be done in which area of which country, and it is like a treasure hunt. It is called the Great Southern Bioblitz (GSB) and will be held on the 24th to the 26 November this year. We compete as Southern Overberg and SO BotSoc organizes fieldtrips around the Overberg – so you can experience interesting places that only BotSoc leaders can arrange.   From Agulhas to Pearly Beach to Caledon to De Hoop to Swellendam to Barrydale. These are mostly slow walks and does not require fitness – just a healthy body. I am willing to teach iNat classes in your home to groups of min 5  max 10, at R70 pp. Starting from the first October, on (scheduled by you in advance) demand.
