PILOT WEEK 2: March 26/27/28

Come and enjoy this magnificent course, which will be presented in a tranquil Country setting.
I will be presenting a workshop on decor and table settings for picnic style, casual events, as well as for evening, more formal parties or events.
We will prepare a picnic in the Countryside and braai Snoek and Sweet Potatoes pure South African style.
Come and learn the art of making some traditional South African cuisine, like Waterblommetjie soup, Springbok pie with veggies that we will pick in our organic garden, just to name a few.
Learn how to make a few South African desserts like Milk Tart, and some Sweet Pastries.
After the course you will leave with the knowledge of how to prepare all of the above meals, and you will have experienced the hospitality of Swellendam and its beautiful surroundings.

About the facilitator, Morne Oerson

I was born and bred in Swellendam and finished my school career at Swellendam High School in 1995. I furthered my studies in Marketing Management at Tygerberg College (now known as Northlink College) in Cape Town and decided to stay on in Cape Town for a few years to broaden my horizons. I subsequently started to work in the Hospitality Industry and eventually realized that preparing food and working with people are my big passions in life. I moved back to Swellendam after a few years and started my own company, Morne’s Catering & Décor. An opportunity arose to facilitate a workshop for the Swellendam Winter School and I immediately decided to make use of said opportunity so that I can share my love and passion of my work with other people.
