Human Resources Generalist

Summary: 

The main purpose of this position is the successful executing of the Human Resources function within the organisation, with a specific focus on recruitment, selection, appointment and induction of the correct candidates, the administration of COID, Employee Benefits, and Exit of employees.  This position will also be responsible to assist with Learning and Development administration as well as the execution of the weekly and/or monthly payroll administration.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the recruitment and selection of the correct candidates for vacancies
  • Arrange and execute induction of new employees
  • Monitor and submit of Injury on Duty Administration (COID)
  • Assist with all enquiries regarding Employee benefits and the execution thereof
  • Execute all administration regarding the exit of employees
  • Assist and execute tasks related to weekly and monthly payroll
  • Assist and execute tasks related to Learning and Development administration
  • Assist with all HR and Learning and Development related enquiries
  • Compile reports regarding responsibility areas
  • Assist with the execution of sound Industrial Relations and corporate governance
  • Assist with HR audits
  • Assist with and give guidance regarding Employee Engagement tool (Team Talk)
  • Facilitation of training events related to HR responsibilities
  • Coach line managers in the fair and consistent application of policies and procedures

 

Key Competencies:

Qualifications:

  • B degree in Human Resources
  • Qualification in Learning and Development will be advantageous

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years HR Generalist experience
  • Proven Learning and Development experience
  • Proven Payroll experience
  • Facilitation experience
  • Industrial Relations experience in a unionized environment essential
  • Computer literacy: MS Office, Sage People System, Time and Attendance system
