Open? Closed? Deliveries?

IMPORTANT MESSAGE    FROM CEO RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH AFRICA – Wendy Alberts:
Please refer to www.restaurant.org.za for the official communication from the Honourable Minister of Tourism.

This is a very important message to ALL restaurants, take aways, QSR’s, canteens and any hospitality food establishments in South Africa.

I have been given directive from the Ministers Office to advise our industry that ALL restaurants are included in the TOTAL LOCKDOWN for 21 DAYS, effective Thursday 26th March 2020 @ 00:00 until Thursday 16th April @ 00:00

This includes all deliveries, take aways or home deliveries.

There is no exception to any alternative circumstances or any loop holes whatsoever.

There will be NO exceptions made for any type of food service continue to trade.

I would furthermore like to take this opportunity to encourage our restauranteurs to act responsibly and to help the country slow the curve.

We understand the industries challenges concerns and the financial impact this has brought into all our businesses. While economic losses for restaurants, entrepreneurs and employees would be severe at this time, the opportunity cost of being able to resume trade in 21 days with a hopefully muted COVID19 threat is worth it.

Our Industry respects President Ramaphosa’s leadership and we will continue to support the country’s leadership as they guide us through these very uncertain times.

Let’s trust that this process will allow us to get back to trading as normal as soon as possible and we can look forward to a positive reopening of the restaurant industry in the near future.

I welcome you to please contact me at any time to assist you with advice to obtain loans or access the announced funding and to assist with your leases and or any other challenges that you may have at this point in time.

Please discard ANY other information circulated at this point in time, should there be any confusion please contact the Association or whatsapp me on 083 661 9000

I will continue to serve you as best as possible and I’ll continue to communicate with you through this very difficult and challenging time.

Thank you very much for your support and understanding.

I wish you a safe and healthy time with your families take care of each other. Thinking of you all.
Wendy

UPDATED MARCH 19

Urgent Covid-19 Update
The government has instituted State of Disaster Regulations in order to curb the spread of Corona Virus, and pertaining to all licensed premises with immediate effect:
Must close doors to patrons at 6pm Mon-Sat and 1pm on Sundays and Public Holidays.
No more than 50 guests at any time and each guest must sit 1m2 apart from the nearest person. ie social distancing enforcement.
In light of these new regulations, we will need to adjust our trading hours and will provide more information on how we can continue to offer our foodies …pre-order takeaways to collect before 6pm perhaps…We will update you with more details soonest.

A Personal Message from The Woodpecker Pizzadeli Team
To all friends, family, staff, suppliers and valued customers of Woodies.
We remain open and no change to our existing trading hours until further recommendations and or proclamations are nationally enforced.
Meanwhile, as part of our social distancing implementation, we have reduced seating capacity inside our restaurant, and ask that you call us on 028 5142924 to make your reservation, or to order your takeaways.
During the past 2 weeks we have stringently implemented additional hygiene measures throughout our establishment, as per WHO recommendations.
Importantly, we are providing all of our staff with additional info, training and guidance regarding Covid -19 daily, as we receive updates, so that these measures are implemented at our workplace and in turn, at our staff’s homes.
In order for all of our sanitizing processes to be effective, so as to protect our front of house staff, and other patrons,  we would ask that everyone be mindful of their own health status, and should you display symptoms of influenza and coughing, to please ensure you practice social distancing or wear a mask at this time, thanking you in advance.
Meanwhile, a huge thank you to our infamous Dr Jacques du Toit for his awesome immune booster soup recipe. Apart from being greeted with hand sanitizer before we provide you with our menu, you will also be offered a taste of this healthy soup on arrival.
We thank you all, for your amazing support throughout the years and look forward to many more happy times..meanwhile…we are all in this moment together.
Take care of you and yours!
Best regards The Woodies Team

CORONA VIRUS AND THE SWELLENDAM WINTER SCHOOL

The Swellendam Winter School organising team are cognizant of the current Corona virus epidemic which is sweeping the globe.
As the health and safety of all are of major concern and in the forefront of decision making, we will be compliant with the regulations and recommendations as published by our national and local government, and with best practice internationally.
It is our sincere hope that the epidemic will wane and that normality will return as soon as possible, with minimal suffering.
With this in mind, we will not yet postpone or cancel the 2020 Swellendam Winter School which is due to start only in May – 2 months away.
We will take a decision on postponement or cancellation on a month-to-month basis, as evidence and regulations permit.
Safety and health for all will be foremost in our decision making.
