Alpha Engineering is a precision-driven engineering firm with decades of design and manufacturing expertise. We are seeking a Senior Stock Control Manager to lead our procurement and inventory operations, ensuring seamless supply chain management and storeroom efficiency. This is a management-level role with direct responsibility for stock accuracy, supplier performance, and team leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Procurement & Supplier Management
• Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation of suppliers for engineering parts and consumables.
• Establish supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery.
• Approve purchase orders and oversee procurement compliance

INVENTORY & STOCK CONTROL

• Manage all stock control functions, including GRVs, issuing to jobs, and system accuracy.
• Implement and enforce stock rotation policies (FIFO/LIFO).
• Conduct cycle counts and full stock takes, reconciling discrepancies and reporting variances.
• ENSURE 100% ACCURACY OF INVENTORY RECORDS ACROSS ERP/STOCK SYSTEMS.

STOREROOM & LOGISTICS OVERSIGHT

• Oversee storeroom layout, labeling, and organization for maximum efficiency.
• Supervise packaging, waybills, and dispatch processes for local deliveries.
• MONITOR INBOUND AND OUTBOUND LOGISTICS, ENSURING TIMELY AND ACCURATE MOVEMENT OF GOODS.

ADMINISTRATION & REPORTING

• Produce detailed monthly stock reports for management, highlighting trends, shortages, and variances.
• Align stock records with financial systems for audit readiness.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and VAT regulations.

LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT

• Manage and mentor stock control staff, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Drive process improvements to reduce costs, errors, and inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory.

REQUIREMENTS

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in stock management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of engineering parts and consumables.
• Advanced computer literacy (Excel, ERP systems, stock control software).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven leadership and team management ability.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational discipline.
• Strong problem-solving skills with initiative to handle complexities.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively under pressure.
